You can enjoy the tower’s night-time appearance from the ground (e.g. with the Dubai Fountain) or from inside the building with an evening observation deck or lounge ticket. Burj Khalifa Light Shows and Projections

The tower’s facade is used for projection mapping and light displays on certain dates—e.g. New Year’s Eve, National Day and other celebrations. These shows are typically visible from the surrounding area (Downtown Dubai, Burj Lake, The Dubai Mall) and do not require a separate “light show ticket” to watch from outside. Viewing from the waterfront or mall is free; you may need a Burj Khalifa observation deck or lounge ticket only if you want to be inside the tower during the show or at night.

Evening Observation Deck Tickets

To be inside the Burj Khalifa at night, you need a standard At the Top (124/125), At the Top SKY (148) or The Lounge (152–154) ticket for an evening time slot. Evening slots let you see the city lights and, if timed right, the fountain show or external light displays from the observation levels. There is no separate “light show ticket” for the interior—you book a normal ticket for your chosen time. Sunset and early evening slots are popular and often priced higher.

Best Way to See the Light Show from Outside

To watch the Burj Khalifa light show or projections from the ground, position yourself around Burj Lake or the Dubai Fountain promenade. The first fountain show of the evening (around sunset) often coincides with good light on the tower. For special events (e.g. NYE), areas may be ticketed or restricted; check official information for that date.

Combining Fountain and Tower Lights

The Dubai Fountain performs at set times each evening. Watching the fountain with the Burj Khalifa in the background gives you both the water show and the lit tower. You can do this for free from the promenade, or book a Burj Khalifa evening slot and then watch a fountain show after your visit (or before). Combo tickets that include Burj Khalifa and a fountain-side experience are sometimes available.

Special Events and New Year

On New Year’s Eve, the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountain are central to the celebrations. Access to certain areas may be ticketed or restricted. Book Burj Khalifa tickets or NYE packages well in advance if you plan to be in Downtown Dubai for the occasion. Prices for NYE and other major events are typically higher.

For evening observation deck visits, book a slot that gives you time to enjoy the city lights. Bring a camera; night views from the tower are memorable.
